Rhinoplasty Claims

Have you had rhinoplasty surgery which has gone wrong? Let us help you to put it right.

Rhinoplasty surgery, or more colloquially a ‘nose job’ is a fairly painful cosmetic procedure involving the reshaping of the bone and cartilage of the nose, often requiring a splint to stabilise the nose during the healing procedure. It is one of the most common forms of cosmetic procedure and may occur due to a client’s aesthetic desires or due to a client’s functional issues. For example, they may need an improvement of air flow through the nasal passages.

Often negligent surgery leaves the patient with one or more of the following symptoms:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Bleeding
  • Disfigurement
  • Loss of sense of smell
  • Unwanted aesthetic outcome
  • Unacceptable scarring
  • Haemotoma

These issues may lead to the patient having to have further surgery to correct the error, or even cause them to have to live their life with a permanently disabling issue with their breathing. The psychological repercussions of such an error in this cosmetic procedure are huge. The nose is a prominent facial feature which is not possible to conceal.

Can I Claim For Rhinoplasty Medical Negligence?

If it is ruled that a negligent action on the part of your surgeon or negligent care following the operation, you will be able to enter a surgical or medical negligence claim depending on your situation. If it is ruled that a reasonable body of medical professionals would have performed the operation differently, given better aftercare or provided more in depth information to the client prior to the operation being carried out – your claim may be successful.

However, many claims are entered into due to a ‘less than satisfactory aesthetic outcome’ but many of these claims fail due to the claimant having unrealistic expectations of the result of their surgery.
