If your claim is accepted your 1stClaims appointed Solicitor will pay 1stClaims a marketing fee of £ 500 (£ 150 to £ 350 in Scotland). The fee is paid to 1stClaims directly from the Solicitor and does not affect the value of your claim in any way.
Your 1stClaims appointed Solicitor pays 1stClaims a flat monthly marketing fee to enable 1stClaims to market their services via the website. This fee relates only to those clients that are not eligible for Legal Aid. For clients that are eligible for Legal Aid no fee is payable by the solicitor. If a fee is paid to 1stClaims it does not affect the value of your claim in any way.
Medical negligence is more complicated than general personal injury claims and often it is not possible to offer a no win no fee agreement. However, initial enquiries are completely free of charge and if there were to be any charges your solicitor would make it abundantly clear to you before they started charging for their time.
Our Panel Solicitors all have a Legal Aid Franchise for medical negligence claims and will discuss with you your eligibility to take the claim forward on a legally aided basis. If you are not eligible for Legal Aid other funding options such as Legal Expense Insurance and a no Win No Fee agreement will be considered.
